Detention

The Cleveland County Detention Center is a division of the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.  The Main Detention Center is located at 100 Justice Place, Shelby, NC and the Detention Center Annex is located at 407 McBrayer Street in Shelby.  Both facilities are manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by a professional and competent staff of 34 officers.  

The supervisory staff includes a Detention Administrator, Assistant Detention Administrator, two facilities Sergeants and 8 shift corporals.  The safety of the staff, citizens, and inmates are of utmost importance in the daily operation of the facilities.
