Community Oriented Policing (COP)

The concept of the Community Policing is to form a relationship with the community and officers to work together to find ways to solve problems in crime ridden neighborhoods. The Community Policing team consists of two officers, one which is a K-9 Officer.

The Community Policing Unit is an extension to the Narcotics Division and the Community Police Officers (COP) follow the Narcotics Division chain of command. Most of the neighborhoods that are infested with crime are a result of high drug sales or use. Working hand in hand with the Narcotics Division enables the Community Police Officers to keep updated on new trends, methods, and those who are currently in the business of selling drugs.
