The Criminal Investigations Division


The Division is responsible for investigation crimes that may require in-depth investigation. 

The Criminal Investigation Division consists of a Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant, six Detectives, and two Administrative Support Assistants.  These include: 1) Murders; 2) Sex Crimes; 3) Unattended Deaths; 4) Fraud and 5) Arson.

The majority of crimes reported involve larceny and breaking and entering homes and businesses.  Assignment of cases for investigation varies per case.  Solvability factors such as Witnesses, Suspect Identity, Traceable Property, Evidence Collected, Fingerprints and Similar Crimes are considered in this process. 

The Division works closely with the District Attorney's Office and routinely coordinates investigations with surrounding law enforcement agencies.
