Emergency Room Utilization

The Carolina Community Health Partnership Network of Cleveland and Rutherford County case managers work in collaboration with the primary care physicians, Medicaid enrollees / families, and HealthChoice enrollees / families to ensure use of the emergency room is appropriate. The first choice to treat any illness is to contact your own doctor before going to the emergency room (Right Call Every Time: Your Medical Home) if possible.

Everyone has accountability to use Medicaid & HealthChoice benefits wisely.

Most illness and complaints can be managed by your primary care physician. Please review brochures under "Resources" to manage common medical problems to assist you to avoid emergency room visits.

Regular appointments with your doctor can manage your health condition and prevent emergency room visits. You are encouraged to schedule and keep your appointments with your physician for sick and well care...
