The Cleveland County Health Department Health Education Program provides education, promotion and prevention services to residents of Cleveland County. Following are many of the services that the Health Educators provide:

  • Provides education to patients in Maternity Clinic
  • Provides Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs
  • Prepared Child Birth Classes
  • Assist Community Groups to assess problems such as traffic safety, teen pregnancy, violence prevention and cardiovascular disease
  • Provides the Wellness for Individuals Now (WIN) program, a comprehensive Health Promotion Program
  • Available for Community Health Programs and School Health Programs
  • Cardiovascular Disease Prevention/ Temple Initiative (contact us)
  • Provide educational support to all units in the Health Department
  • Coordinates the Fit Together, Teen Tobacco Initiative and Health Disparities (contact us) grants funded by the Health and Wellness Trust Fund
  • Roots and Wings program

The Community Organization for Drug Abuse Prevention (CODAP) services is a department within the Health Education/Health Promotion Unit of the Cleveland County Health Department dedicated to prevention and intervention of substance abuse prevention programs in a school setting.

Substance abuse prevention services are contracted by the Cleveland County School System through funding from a Safe and Drug Free Schools Grant and are supported by funds from the Cleveland County United Way.
