The Maternity Clinic provides prenatal care to pregnant women in Cleveland County who qualify financially. The clinic is staffed by a physician, public health nurses with expanded role training, Social workers, health educators, and nutritionists. Services include:

The Child health Program at the Health Department provides Well care and Sick care for children from birth to the age of 18. Child health educational services are provided to the community upon request.

Postpartum & Newborn Home Visiting Program

Babies of all maternity clients who receive prenatal care at the Health Department receive postpartum and newborn health assessments from a public health nurse who visits them at home after delivery.
Maternity Care Coordination Program (BABYLOVE)

The Maternity Care Coordination Program provides case management, and support services to prenatal patients during their pregnancy and until eight weeks after delivery. Services are provided by Social Workers.

The Child Service Coordination Program assures identification of children at risk for developmental delay or disability, chronic illness or social/emotional disorders. A public health nurse provides follow-up to these high risk infants through home visits and telephone contacts to assure that they receive appropriate care from available community resources. Program staff meet monthly with representatives from other human service agencies for case coordination. Families can be assisted financially for special services from the Children's Special Health Services Program.
Child Care Health Consultant
A Public Health Nurse provides on site visits to the Day Care Centers and Homes in Cleveland County. With the assistance of policy development and procedures, a Public Health Nurse also provides counseling and support to different agencies. Continuing educational courses are provided at no cost to participants. Social and emotional screenings are provided to participating Day Care Centers. |
