This page of the Cleveland County Health Department is intended to provide necessary information to the citizens of the county in the event of a public health emergency. We have designed a process to allow better coordination of activities with the state health agency and better orient our population to find the location of the different Points of Dispensing (POD) and seek assistance.

What is a Point of Dispensing or POD?
A point of dispensing (POD) is a designated location used to quickly distribute medications or vaccines during an emergency. POD do not offer medical care.

Where will PODs be located?
PODs will be set up in communities throughout Cleveland County to assist the majority of our citizens. To find the set location of PODs, please use the link on the right. Additional PODs location will be announced to the public.

What types of events would require use of PODs?
PODs will be required if a large number of people need to receive medications or vaccines quickly. It could be necessary in the event of a terrorist attack, chemical release, or widespread illness.
