The four High Schools have school based health centers operated by the Cleveland County Health Department. They are staffed by Physician Extenders and services are available to students with signed parental permission. Examples of services provided include:

  • Evaluation and treatment
  • Lab tests
  • Physical Examinations
  • Education
  • Referrals
  • Immunizations and Nutrition Counseling

The four Middle Schools have school based health centers which are staffed by registered nurses with expanded role training. Services are available to students with signed parental permission. Examples of services include:

  • Assessments
  • Lab tests
  • Education
  • Referrals
  • Nutrition
  • Counseling
Flu revolution

Registered Nurses serve all Elementary, Intermediate, and Alternative Schools and provide an array of school health services including assessments, referrals, education, and counseling. Each school is visited at least weekly by one of the school health nurses.
