Web-Based Learning
Cleveland County Information Technology is now offering a complete series of web-based, self-paced, and self-learning courses on a wide range of computer software. For now, these courses are only available in the County Information Technology Department, located in the basement of the Law Enforcement Building. This arrangement is to satisfy the existing licensing agreement with the website we are using. If interest proves great enough we may in the future expand training to multiple County locations.
The detailed, video-based courses which are available, offer a wealth of information for anyone that is willing to commit their time and make the effort necessary to watch and learn from them. There are over 25,000 video tutorials, covering more than 350 courses available on-line. See a full list below and/or current list at lynda.com. All courses are broken down into a series of subjects with individual training videos that usually last from 4-12 minutes each.

Self-learning takes both commitment and effort
Learning and enhancing your current computer software skills can be as enlightening as the dawn of a new day. With hundreds of courses at your fingertips and the option to learn at your own pace, the online training system may appear deceptively simple. However, please realize that learning in this form will require both a commitment of time (e.g. 2-4 hours/week for 4 weeks) plus a consistent effort from you. Please make an appointment to learn only if you are serious about investing the time and making the effort necessary to get the most out of these courses.
Course Subjects
Below is the list of course subjects that are available. These subjects are being added to on a weekly basis and the most current list can be found at lynda.com. Cleveland County Information Technology Department hopes these course prove to be a valuable resource for those County Employees that are interested in participating. Thank you.
