Thank you for choosing to adopt an animal from Cleveland County Animal Services. Shelter pets make wonderful furry family members, if only given a chance. All they need is a forever home filled with love to blossom into amazing pets.
Adoption Fees
Dogs $40, Cats: $20. The fee includes spaying or neutering, vaccinations and microchipping.
To adopt an animal:
- Click on Animals Available for Adoption
- Animal Information: Read the animal's profile by it's picture to see if it is available. If the profile says ADOPTION PENDING, the animal is not available for adoption because it is in the process of being adopted by another family.
- Availability: Note the animal's RELEASE DATE AND TIME. This is the date and time that the animal is available for adoption. The release date and time is exactly 72 hours after an animal is picked up as a stray. This is mandated by N.C. law in order to give owners the opportunity to reclaim their lost pet, if it is picked up as a stray animal. If the release date and time falls during a time when the Animal Shelter is not open, the animal will be available when the shelter opens on the next business day.
- Shelter Operating Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 AM - 4 PM and Saturday 10 AM - 1 PM. Shelter is closed on Wednesdays.
