The goal of Cleveland County E-9-1-1 Communications is to provide prompt, efficient, and courteous emergency services to the citizens of Cleveland County. Communication’s personnel are committed to excellence in the delivery of these services while treating people with dignity and respect.

The E-9-1-1 Communications Center is staffed by 18 full-time telecommunicators, 8 part-time telecommunicators, and two administrators. The Center operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week answering emergency and non-emergency calls for service for Police, Fire and EMS, as well as numerous other emergency service related agencies after normal business hours.

On average, the E-9-1-1 Center answers a total of 130,000 phone calls per year. Calls for service for law enforcement are normally in the range of 64,000 per year, emergency medical service calls - 23,000, fire service calls - 4,500, and other miscellaneous agencies - 3,500. The remaining 35,000 calls per year are general inquiries from citizens that do not require police, fire, or EMS assistance.

Cleveland County E-9-1-1 Communications provides direct dispatch and support for 14 Fire Departments, 3 Rescue Squads, Cleveland County EMS, Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, Grover Police Department and Boiling Springs Police Department.

E-9-1-1 telecommunicators are the first, first responder, or the faceless first responder as they are the first point of contact for citizens in an emergency. While we are heard but rarely seen, when seconds count, we strive to provide the best possible service.
