39 Dogs & Cats Adopted on Aug. 17

What a wonderful day August 17 was for 39 dogs and cats who were adopted into forever homes.  The nationwide Clear the Shelter Day was a time when hundreds of shelters nationwide waived their usual adoption fees and offered to let people adopt a dog or cat for a donation of any amount.

There was a line of people waiting at the gate when the Cleveland County Animal Shelter opened at 10 AM on Saturday, August 17. They were all eager to find their perfect match. Thanks to the assistance of our amazing volunteers and staff, we helped each individual or family meet our sweet animals who needed homes. 

Within 3-4 hours, 22 dogs and 3 cats had been adopted and 14 kittens went to foster-to-adopt homes. Their adoptions will be finalized when they are old enough to get spayed or neutered.
