American Legion World Series Selects Shelby As Permanent Home

The American Legion has selected Shelby as its permanent home to host the American Legion World Series held each August. Going forward, the contract to host the event will automatically renew every five years unless either side opts out with a two year notice.

The American Legion's executive committee noted how supportive and excited the community is each year during the games.

Cleveland County Board of Commissioners Chairman Eddie Holbrook expressed his excitement on behalf of the local organizing committee, Cleveland County, City of Shelby, surrounding towns and cities and the many volunteers and supporters of the American Legion World Series.
